Profile
Research assistant with 5+ years of programming expertise, specializing in the mathematics of intelligent systems. Currently pursuing BS in Mathematics of Computation and BA in Philosophy at UCLA. Pursuing a generalist career in AI safety strategy and operations.
Research Experience
Research Assistant Aug 2025 – Present
Equilibria Networks
Exploring how networks of agents interact to form emergent collectives using tools from spectral graph theory, active inference, statistical mechanics, and applied category theory, with the ultimate goal of developing a general mathematics of collective intelligence. This work began as part of the Supervised Program for Alignment Research (SPAR).
Research Assistant Jun 2023 – Sept 2023
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics
Analyzed spectral data from 700,000+ supermassive black holes, using dimensionality reduction techniques (PCA, UMAP, Autoencoders, etc.) to develop a novel classification system for active galactic nuclei.
Research Assistant Mar 2022 – Jul 2022
Harriton Research Lab
Leveraged computational biology methods (Mendelian randomization) using R to analyze several genome-wide association studies of more than 115,000 individuals. Established causal links between 29 metabolites and Multiple Sclerosis.
Leadership & Projects
AI Safety at UCLA Jan 2025 – Present
Board member of UCLA's AI safety organization. Lead programming for flagship events, facilitate weekly board meetings, and TA for the AI safety fellowship pipeline that introduces UCLA students to alignment research.
CiteTrace May 2025
Developed a platform that transforms academic papers into an interactive knowledge graph, enabling visual exploration of relationships, AI-assisted summaries, and similarity-based discovery. Built with React Native, D3.js, Flask, Supabase, and a cloud-deployed similarity model integrated with RAG pipelines. Won first place at the ACM × Intel Hackathon.
Educated Finance Sept 2021 – Jun 2024
Co-founded nonprofit focused on improving financial literacy among youth. Led 18-member team providing 1:1 tutoring & resources for people in 7 countries, and raised $2,000 as treasurer.
Production Assistant, freelance Aug 2019 – Present
Facilitate the needs of various departments on set in an expeditious and efficient manner across various productions. Occasionally supervise newer PAs as they become acclimated to the fast-paced environment of film sets.
